About norman

Wexford native, Norman Stevenson brings a rich tapestry of experience spanning over two decades in strategy, innovation, and design to his latest venture as a visual artist. With a deep-rooted background in creating brand-centric products for global clients across consumer, industrial, and healthcare sectors, Norman has honed a keen eye for the intricate dance between form and function.

As the former Director of Client Strategy at PA Consulting and Design Partners in Ireland, Norman led teams that partnered with ambitious clients to fuel their growth through exceptional product experiences. His profound understanding of design and its impact on consumer interaction is now channelled into creating art that explores the delicate interplay of light, texture, and form.

Norman completed a PhD in sustainable design research at Loughborough University in 2013, which not only shaped his approach to design but also instilled a deep appreciation for the sustainable practices that he now incorporates into his artwork. Following his academic tenure, he served as a lecturer in product and industrial design, further solidifying his expertise before returning to the consultancy world at DCA in Warwick, UK. He now continues to share his experience and passion for design as a Lecturer in Product Design, guiding the next generation of designers to think critically and creatively about the world around them.

His latest exhibition, FALLEN, reflects this ongoing exploration. The series captures the quiet beauty of autumnal leaves and seeds - not as symbols of loss, but of rhythm, renewal, and return. Each piece holds the delicate tension between fragility and endurance, reminding viewers that endings are rarely just endings.

In 2024, Norman’s work was selected for both the 195th Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) Annual Exhibition in Dublin and the 144th Royal Ulster Academy (RUA) Annual Exhibition in Belfast - recognition that marks a significant milestone in his artistic journey.

Norman’s transition from design strategist to artist continues to be guided by a lifelong fascination with materiality, light, and meaning, and by a belief that beauty often reveals itself in the quiet moments of transformation.
